Former Italy women’s national team coach Davide Mazzanti is reportedly on the verge of returning to the sidelines, with Turkish media claiming he has reached an agreement to become the new head coach of Türk Hava Yolları (THY). The official announcement is expected within hours.

Mazzanti, who guided Italy from 2017 to 2023 and claimed both a European Championship title and a World Championship silver, is set to take charge of a THY squad currently struggling in the Sultanlar Ligi. The team has opened the season poorly, sitting 10th in the standings with just three wins and eight points, and is hovering dangerously near the relegation zone.
Despite its rough start, the roster features high-level talent, including Brazilian stars Roberta Ratzke and Julia Bergmann, Germany’s Hanna Orthmann, and Italian opposite Anna Adelusi.
Mazzanti’s arrival is expected to spark an immediate turnaround.
