What was only an idea will be fulfilled in reality: The CEV reacted to the Europe-wide pandemic situation with a new concept for the Men’s and Women’s Champions League for the ongoing season. The change is intended to increase the chances of the competition being carried out in full and to minimize the risk of infection for the players.

The pool stage (4th Round) remains unchanged in terms of composition. However, there will be no home and return games. Instead, there will be two single round-robin tournaments held in ‘bio-secure bubbles’ at two different venues in each pool, with two matches held on three days (Tuesday to Thursday).

The total number of games remains the same and the five group winners and the three best runners-up will qualify for the quarterfinals. Check out the schedule and tournament hosts.
