Poland retained their European volleyball title, beating France 3-1 in the 2026 final in Milan and secure a place at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The defending champions edged a tense opening set 31-29 before taking the second 25-19. France responded with a 25-20 win in the third, but Poland dominated the fourth 25-16 to complete the victory.
Bartłomiej Bołądź led Poland with 16 points, while Tomasz Fornal and Wilfredo Leon added 13 each. France’s Mathis Henno finished as the match’s top scorer with 20 points.
Poland finished with a 58% attacking efficiency compared with France’s 51% and held a 57-52 advantage in attack points. They also edged France 8-6 in serve points and 9-8 in blocks, while committing fewer errors, 23 to 27.
The victory delivered Poland’s third European title after triumphs in 2009 and 2023. Finland took bronze after beating Slovenia 3-0, earning the country’s first European Championship medal.
