Libero of German champions Dresdner SC and former German national team player Lenka Durr announced her decision to retire from professional volleyball and open a new chapter in her life.

Lenka played in the 1st Bundesliga at the age of 16 and since then she has played at the highest level in Germany, Azerbaijan, Romania and Poland for 15 years. At the age of 17, she joined the German national team and participated in winning a silver medal at EuroVolley in Italy and Serbia in 2011 and Germany in 2013. With the German national team, she also won bronze medal on 2009 FIVB Grand Prix, on the Montreux Volley Masters gold medal in 2014 and silver in 2017.

“Dear family, dear friends, dear coaches, teammates and all the fans and supporters! THANK YOU!! Thank you for so many unforgettable moments, for your great support and accompaniment on my journey of about 15 years as a professional volleyball player. When I wasn't even 16, I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. That’s when my career started in the 1st Bundesliga. When I was 17, I first got a chance to participate in senior national team training. Over the years I have had the opportunity to gain invaluable experiences, meet new countries and cultures and meet a lot of wonderful and inspiring people! You've already noticed it one way or another ... This journey here ends and a new one begins. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone once again! You have all been or are still my companions. Thanks for everything, dear volleyball! I will miss you!” Lenka Durr stated in her announcement.

GRE W: Suspended Korean player Lee Da-Yeong going to play in Greece

Excited to see Dayeong venture out to an overseas league to grow as a player! Since the Greece league is weaker than the Korean league, it'll be an opportunity to see if she can step up to the plate to lead her team as a setter, while also showing herself to other leagues for future seasons.

The twins were indefinitely suspended after the accusations made towards them about what they did back during elementary school, but they're currently in the midst of a court investigation process to prove that most of the accusations made against them were false (they acknowledged some of them and had apologized immediately & publicly for those).
Once that is resolved - hopefully soon, she should have no issues going abroad.

Heard rumours that PAOK is also looking for a foreign OH, and is looking at signing her twin sister Jaeyeong together with her as a package.
I sure hope that is true and will come to pass as well! Will be additionally fun seeing them play together, and they can rely on one another in a new foreign environment. Reply

VNL W: Preliminary stage over - China put end to USA’s invincibility, 6 players say farewell to Thailand National Team

Bless the Thai players. They share much blood, sweat and tears, many tears. They were robbed of an Olympic birth from an incompetent ref that will haunt them for the rest of their life. Reply
