Monza
The names of four sides from the eight-final battles that will join the other four teams – who earned automatic tickets in accordance with the league ranking from last season – in the quarterfinals of the 2020/21 Del Monte Coppa Italia SuperLega are known.
Vero Volley Monza and Allianz Milano, the two undefeated sides in Pool A (2-0 each) prior to the last round – both securing a spot in the quarterfinals after two rounds – played a five-setter in which the former prevailed. In Pool B, Kioene Padova downed Top Volley Cisterna by a 3-2 to keep the perfect record and advance to the quarterfinals as the pool leaders. The other team from this pool that will join the top 8 is Consar Ravenna.
The ambitious project of Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza suffered showed anomalies at the very beginning of the season given they took the last place in Pool B (0-3) and said goodbye to the competition. The head coach Gardini paid the price for the failure.
