Gian Luca Pasini from La Gazzetta dello Sport informed that the FIVB is monitoring an affair between Travica and Urmia about for non-payment of the player’s salaries for the 2016/17 season.
“The FIVB is aware of the financial dispute between Dragan Travica and the Iranian volleyball club Shahrdari Urmia. The FIVB has already sanctioned the club with an international transfer ban. However, the resolution of these disputes is further complicated by the fact that international money transfers are subject to severe restrictions in light of sanctions against Iran. Nevertheless, the FIVB is working with the Iranian Volleyball Federation to try to solve the problem as quickly as possible. The well-being of the athletes is the main priority of the FIVB and its most recent board of directors has made the decision to set up a working group that will examine how to improve the protection of the athletes,” the FIVB published.
In a recent interview for our website, Travica urged FIVB to take care of the matter.
