CHN M: Shanghai one step away from defending title, Shandong win bronze

Shanghai outpowered Jiangsu in Game 1 of the 2019/20 Chinese men’s volleyball Championship playoff finals.

Shanghai came to a step from defending the national title. In Game 1 of the 2019/20 Super League playoff finals, they beat Jiangsu by a 3-1 (25-12, 20-25, 25-15, 25-22) and need one more win to get crowned (tomorrow).

What made the key difference in the match was the block. Shanghai made as many as 19 points from this element of which Chen Longhai was deserved for 7. He was also the best scorer of his team with 17 points. Shanghai had 5 players in double digits in scoring, while Jiangsu had none.

Shandong won the bronze medal in the competition after beating Zhejiang in four sets.
