Bartosz Kurek did not prolong the contract with ONICO Warszawa that expired on May 29, the Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship silver medalists announced.

ONICO thanked Kurek for playing for their team and wished him success in the continuation of his career, confirming the speculations on parting ways with the opposite hitter that appeared in several media.

One of the best players in the world came to ONICO in December 2018 from Stocznia Szczecin who withdrew from participating in the Plus Liga due to financial difficulties. In total, Kurek played 15 games for the team from the Polish capital (13 in the league and two in the Polish Cup) in which he scored 266 points.

ONICO informed that negotiations regarding the extension of the contract with Kurek have lasted for a long time and until recently, everyone – both the club and the player – were convinced that signing a new contract was only a matter of time. But, due to some independent reasons, the finalization did not occur.

Vero Volley Monza are the first in line for Kurek, according to the Italian media.
