Khaled Ali Al-Mawlawi, president of the Qatar Volleyball Federation, stated that his country will candidate for organization of the World Championship for men in 2018.

“One of the events we seek to organize is World Championship for men in 2018. We believe that we have the experience to host such an event” – said Khaled Ali Al-Mawlawi.
Qatar will be the host of football World Cup in 2022, handball World Championship in 2015, and regularly organizes MotoGP races, ATP tennis tournament and Diamond League athletics meetings.
