BRA W: Rexona prevail in Brazilian “classic” at regular stage closing, Tandara leads Minas to 3rd place

Current champions and league leaders Rexona-Ades won the “classic” against Vôlei Nestlé/Osasco in straight sets 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-21), but despite the fact that both teams secured playoff spot, Osasco will suffer consequences for a defeat. They will play playoff quarterfinals as fourth-seeded instead of being third-seeded and thus, they will play against stronger rivals.

Mostly thanks to Monique Pavão (12 points) and Natália Pereira (11 points), Rexona beat fierce opponents in whose squad the Cuban Kenia Carcaces Opón had 14.

Camponesa/Minas took advantage of Osasco’s defeat and settled at third place after downing São Bernardo Vôlei 3-1 with 19 points from Tandara Caixeta.

Sesi-SP achieved an important victory on road over Concilig/Vôlei Bauru 3-1 (25-27, 25-20, 22-25, 16-25) and claimed seventh instead of eighth position in the standings. It means that Sesi will avoid title holders Rexona in playoff quarterfinals. At the same time, Bauru said farewell to their debut season in the elite national division previously managing to avoid relegation.

Ana Beatriz Corrêa topped Sesi’s scorers with 18 points while on the other side, Bruna da Silva scored 20.
