Perugia failed to break the curse on Sunday evening as they once again came up as the losing side in the clash against Modena. Believe it or not, but Perugia have suffered 11 consecutive defeats against Modena, counting all domestic competitions. The last time the Block Devils managed to beat the Yellow crew was 3 years ago, on January 19, 2014!
Now pay attention to this – 5 out of the last 7 head to head clashes between Perugia and Modena were finished in a tie-break! Simply, every time the game goes into the 5th set it turns out that Modena have more concentration than Perugia and the Yellow team score a dramatic win.
Only in 2016, Modena won two trophies after tie-break wins against Perugia. Firstly they did it in the Game 3 of the Serie A1 Finals, while then the same scenario repeated in the Italian Supercup Finals.
At one point, this streak will definitely be broken, but the question is – When?
