The Japanese volleyball national team beat Venezuela in three sets 3-0 (33-31, 26-24, 25-19). As you can see, the host of the tournament had a very tough job in this match.

Japan

Japan

The first set was the most exciting so far at the World Cup probably! Believe it or not, Venezuela had seven set points while host team had only one! At the result 31:31, Shimizu’s spike gave Japan the second set point and 30 seconds later, they won the set! The both team were equaly good, but host team was more lucky.

Venezuela were trailing in the second set but before the second TTO, they managed to turnaround the score and to take the lead 16:15! Afterwards, they improved it to 24:22 and had two set points! Unfortunately for Venezuela‘s fans, Japan made four consecutive points and won the set again!

It was frustrating for Venezuela. They had so many set points but they didn’t manage to win any of them! That’s why they couldn’t contribute more in the third set. Japan easily marched to the new win at World Cup.

TOP SCORERS: Shimizu 18, Ishikawa 16 – Pinerua 13, Martine 10!
