After John Perrin’s case, the Canadian player who has left the team even though he had a contract with Resovia, another team is facing the same problem.
It’s Jastrzebski Wegiel, who have announced a press release, stating that Kevin Tillie wants to do the same thing as John Perrin.
“Player of Jastrzębski Węgiel – Kevin Tillie has informed us that during 2017/18 season he intends to play in Chinese league despite the contract, that he signed with our club.
We informed him about the necessity of filling the contract and we called him to take part in our practices after the end of his national team period. Simultaneously we filled a request to Polish Volleyball Federation, to call FIVB to intervene in our cause to eliminate this practices in the future. As far as we know our incident is not the only one in the league this year, and this type of behavior can lead to lowering the level of the league, and shows unprofessional behavior from the players.
We would like to highlight that manager of the player intended to resolve this case without legal intervention, but till now he didn’t procced any action. That type of action from players and managers is highly unethical and unprofessional,” announce the official website of Jastrzebski.
What would be the best solution for the players and the clubs, just to avoid such things in the future?
Recall that this is the third case of “volleyball kidnapping” this summer as the first one happened to Bolivar.
