POL M: Skra halfway to winning national title – 3-0 vs. Zaksa in Game 1 of playoff finals

PGE Skra Bełchatów beat Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle in Game 1 of the Polish men’s volleyball championship Plus Liga 2017/2018 playoff finals.

The second-seed Skra are halfway to winning the national title as they beat No.1 Zaksa in Game 1 of the best-of-two Plus Liga 2017/2018 playoff finals in straight sets, but with each one being full of intensity and solved with a two points difference. Unfortunately for the titleholders, all three sets went into the favor of Skra – 25-23, 25-23, and 26-24.

Mariusz Wlazły topped Skra with 16 points (4 aces and 2 kill blocks), while Belgian Sam Deroo scored 11 points for Zaksa.

These two met in the championship finals for the second time in a row. Zaksa fight for their ninth championship title, third in a row, while Skra aim for their ninth Plus Liga gold medal.

The second match is scheduled for Saturday, May 5.
