Russian Volleyball Federation decided to take this step, because Zhigalov ignored call-ups from the national team this summer. So Zhigalov will miss at least 10 matches in Superliga.
He will be on a two years long conditional in order to keep him from doing the same mistake again.
The last time this kind of punishment was used (2011), Spiridonov was the one who had to accept the suspension.
