It was 14:11 in the tie-break for Dinamo Moscow… But, then Wilfredo Leon started his show…
Let’s start from the beginning. Dinamo Moscow won the thrilling first set and then used the psychological boost to seize the second set as well! It was 2-0 for the home side, but Zenit Kazan was just getting into this game… The visitors stormed through the third and the fourth set and tied the score at 2-2! Once again the tie-break was about to decide the winner of the match between two fierce rivals.
It has all started so good for the away crew. Zenit took the 5-2 lead, but Dinamo Moscow equalized the score at 8:8. Then, three points in a row for the hosts thanks to great serves of Alexander Markin – 11:8 for Moscow giant! Wilfredo Leon made two points in a row for Zenit to reduce the margin to 11:10, but then Ivan Zaytsev got in his “beast mode” and made two super strong spikes – 13:10 for Dinamo!
The hosts then gave away one point to their rivals with service mistake – 13:11, but Ivan Zaytsev made another amazing “kill” and Dinamo Moscow had three match points – 14:11. Italian star wanted to finish this game in style, but his strong service ended up in the net – 14:12. On the other side, Wilfredo Leon went on the service line…
Cuban player made a fantastic ace for 14:13, while then Aleksandr Gucaliyuk blocked Zaytsev for 14:14! Leon was still on the serve… This time he totally messed up the reception of Dinamo, while eventually after a great rally, one player of the home team hit the antenna and Zenit got their first match point – 14:15!
Wilfredo Leon made another fantastic serve, the ball bounced off receivers to Matt Anderson who was waiting at the net… His spike went out of bounds, but the referees decided that the ball touched the hands of Sergey Grankin! BLOCK-OUT – 14:16! Players and coaching staff of Dinamo Moscow have complained about this point, but the referees did not change their call after reviewing the video replay.
