Kuzbass Kemerovo made an important change in their roster.

Sebastian Schwarz is no longer a player of Kuzbass Kemerovo. He will be replaced by Finish player Olli-Pekka Ojansivu who will soon join the Russian club.

This change was perhaps a bit unexpected, as the club was doing really great in the Russian Championship, while this is the official explanation given by Kuzbass Kemerovo management:

“In the 2016/17 season Sebastian Schwarz was not playing so much. Due to the fact that he wishes to spend more time on court, we decided to terminate the contract and to give him a chance to play in some other club,” announced Kuzbass.

Schwarz played 12 games for Kuzbass in the 2016/17 season, scoring 89 points along the way.

At the same time, the Finish colony in Kemerovo has just got bigger for Olli-Pekka Ojansivu. He started the current season in Iran where he played for Shahrdari Urmia. Ojansivu will probably not need much time to fit into the new team as he will work with Finish head coach Tuomas Sammelvuo, while his teammate will be Finish libero Lauri Kerminen
