A 16-year-old Flavia Montes is considered as one of the biggest prospects of Peruvian Women’s volleyball, and wider. But, her sporting career did not start off on the right foot.
She has chosen surfing to set off her sports career but, unfortunately, she had to give it up due to respiratory problems. Well, unfortunately for surfing but luckily for volleyball, because that was the sport in which Flavia found herself afterwards.
And now, she is the backbone of Peruvian U19 and U20 national teams, currently competing in the U20 Pan American Cup in San José, Costa Rica, leading her team to the quarterfinals.
In spite of her young age, Flavia already established herself as middle blocker of great perspective, highlighting Sporting Cristal in 2016/2017 Peruvian Championship.
