VakıfBank showed no signs of slowing down in the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi, sweeping Galatasaray Daikin to keep their unbeaten run alive. Fenerbahçe Medicana also delivered a strong response against Eczacıbaşı Peron İstanbul, fighting back from a set down to claim a victory as Week 5 brought several closely contested matches.
Defending champions VakıfBank claimed their fifth consecutive victory, beating Galatasaray 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-22). Tijana Boskovic led with 18 points, followed by Marina Markova (15) and Zehra Güneş (10).
The result extended VakıfBank’s regular-season winning streak to 15 matches.
Fenerbahçe Medicana secured their fourth league win after recovering from a set down to defeat Eczacıbaşı 3-1 (25-27, 27-25, 25-21, 25-22). Ana Cristina De Souza scored 22 points, Melissa Vargas added 21, Arina Fedorovtseva contributed 17 and Eda Erdem Dündar finished with 14.
In other matches, Kuzeyboru came back from two sets down to beat Nilüfer Belediyespor Eker 3-2, while Zeren Spor edged Manisa Büyükşehir Belediyespor in five sets. Göztepe Yuppo, İlbank and Türk Hava Yolları also recorded victories.
