Neriman Ozsoy Gençyürek played her last match for the National team at the European Championship where she won the bronze medal.
“I have been wearing a National team jersey for 14 years and I think it’s enough. I love volleyball and I cannot do anything except volleyball but it’s time to move on. I play volleyball during the summer, the whole winter, and for years I have been away from my family. I am now married and I want to spend more time with my husband, family, and friends“ said Nariman and added:
“It’s time for the new generation. Many countries changed the generations and we are little late on this. Now the new generation needs to take responsibility and take part in the National team. The best examples are Italy and Serbia who played on the high level in Grand Prix and European Championship. The Serbian opposite Tijana Boskovic is 20-year-old and she is already the main player in the team. So, I think that we also need to raise more players to take responsibility for the future.”
