NFL, MLB and NBA are getting one more household in the United States, that gathers the best of the best in volleyball – NVA (National Volleyball Association).
The goal of NVA is to create a professional volleyball league in the U.S. and to become one of the top competitions in this sport.
They have already launched the website nvausa.com (under construction), as well as social media and networks.
Rusell Holmes will take participation in this project, as a player of Blizzard Volleyball, so he has spoken about it:
“If there was one question I got frequently asked during my professional career as a volleyball player it would have to be, “When are they gonna start a pro league in the United States?” Or, “Why is there not a pro league in the USA?” I can recall always leaving those conversations feeling a little embarrassed and uncertain and ultimately asking myself the same questions, “Why?” “When?” Well, today the embarrassment and uncertainty stop as it is with great pride and pleasure to present to you the inaugural men’s professional volleyball league, the NVA (National Volleyball Association). Coming soon to the United States @nvausa! I feel extremely grateful to have the opportunity to work closely with those responsible for making this possible. This is a huge moment for the sport here in the United States. So please show your support and be apart of this exciting movement by following @nvausa on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook,” writes Holmes on his Instagram account.
The league will feature eight teams and one of them is Lloyd Ball’s Team Pineapple. The Olympic Champion from 2008 will play in the starting line-up of this team…
We can’t wait for the league’s start. Get ready for one of the best volleyball competitions in the world. Stay tuned, we will provide more information about the teams and league very soon.
Recall that the USA already had their professional volleyball league back in seventies…

Many questions :
Stability of league, including financial one – for how long?
Will be here the best players, coaches from all over the world, as is now in leagues in Italy, Brazil, Poland, Russia, if yes when ?
Will be selected the best visible and recognizable ball for TV/internet fans? Will i/they be selected on some independent and complex analyses?
Will matches be on Internet?
Doping control – rules?
Sponsoring – some limitation?
International season – will they fully participate in FIVB projects?
It will.great to have a professional volleyball league in the USA. It will help to have another channel for collegiate players to strive towards.
Exciting news.
