As the men’s competition culminated in Mexico, thousands were on their feet at the Tlaxcala Bullring. They bore witness to a nail-biting three-set showdown (21-15, 17-21, 15-13) against the Swedish duo, David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig. Meanwhile, Poland’s Michal Bryl and Bartosz Łosiak walked away with the bronze.

Perusic and Schweiner’s trajectory in this championship was nothing short of remarkable. Their shaky start in the pool stages saw them clinch just a single win in three matches. However, a spectacular turnaround in the elimination rounds witnessed them win five consecutive matches. Their crowning glory included triumphing over FIVB Beach Volleyball World Ranking leaders and defending champions, Anders Mol and Christian Sørum from Norway, in the quarterfinals. This streak culminated in their victory over Åhman and Hellvig for the gold.

In another thrilling encounter, the Polish pair Bryl and Łosiak outplayed Americans Theo Brunner and Trevor Crabb in two straight sets (21-17, 21-18), ensuring their place on the World Championship podium.
