American duo Kristen Nuss and Taryn Brasher are golden again, defending their title at the Beach Pro Tour Gstaad Elite 16 with another stunning performance.
In Sunday’s final, the Olympians swept Latvia’s Tina Graudina and Anastasija Samoilova (21-19, 21-18), capping an undefeated run through the tournament. It’s their second straight win in Gstaad, making them just the sixth women’s team in history to go back-to-back at the iconic Swiss event.
“Kristen was the calm in the storm,” Brasher said after the match. “We trusted each other every point.”
Switzerland also had something to cheer about—Anouk and Zoé Vergé-Dépré took bronze, beating fellow Swiss team Hüberli/Kernen in straight sets. It’s the first Swiss medal at home in Gstaad since 2012.
“Winning a cowbell has been our dream since we were kids watching from the stands,” said a teary-eyed Anouk.
