UNIVERSIADE W: Unstoppable Lazareva takes Russia to final against hosts Italy

Russia and hosts Italy will play the final of the Women’s Volleyball tournament in the 2019 Summer Universiade in Naples.

The defending champions Russia, who are unbeaten in the 2019 Universiade with a 5-0 record (3-0 in Pool A and 2-0 in the knockout stage) beat Japan, also a team that did not suffer a single loss, by a 3-1 (21-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-21) in the semifinals. Earlier, in the quarterfinals, “Zbornaya“ downed the Czech Republic in straight sets. Anna Lazareva was once again unstoppable for Russia. The opposite hitter of Dinamo Moscow notched 26 points against Japan, including 5 kill blocks.
