Of course, a former French national team member Antonin Rouzier meant it would be too risky since corona is still out there.

We took an opportunity to talk to Antonin about the current situation in volleyball and his future plans.

Hello Antonin, how are you?

I’m fine, thank you. Enjoying some extra vacation days with my family at my house.“

How do you handle this situation with corona?

To be honest, not very good. I’m still waiting for my visa to join Doha and start the season. Everything is blocked for the strangers due to the corona situation. I’m trying to stay patient and keep a good shape.“

How 2020/2021 season will look like since corona will be still among us?

I have no idea… we are living a very strange and tough period. I’m wondering how it will be and I hope that we will be able to play all along the season.“

Do you think that the fans should be in the stands in the next season?

As long as the situation will be like this, I don’t think so. It’s more reasonable to play without any fans, it’s too risky.“

Toray’s chapter is over for you. What were the best moments for you in Japan?

I enjoyed a lot my experience in Japan. People are very careful with each other. I don’t have a special moment to tell you, but these 2 seasons were a wonderful experience for me.“

You have a new challenge in your career – Al Rayan. What’s your impression about it?

I’m very happy with this choice I’ve made. I can’t wait to be there to meet my teammates, my coach & finally start the training.“

After spending two seasons in Japan, are you planning to return there in the future?

I would love to if I have the opportunity.“
