A Level III Coaches Course has recently begun at the FIVB Development Centre in the Dominican Republic.

Attending the official opening ceremony was Mr Cristobal Marte Hoffiz (NORCECA President), Mr Luis Mejia Oviedo (President of the National Olympic Committee of the Dominican Republic), Mr Antonio Acosta (General Secretary of the National Olympic Committee), Mr Nelson Jose Ramirez (Director of the FIVB Development Centre), Gustavo Meczyc (Course Director), Luis Muchaga (Course Instructor).

In all there are 20 participants taking part in the course, hailing from St. Kitts, Peru, Nicaragua, Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, El Salvador, Peru, Costa Rica, Santa Lucia, Argentina, Curacao, Haiti, Puerto Rico and Jamaica.

The Level III Coaches course is the highest level of instruction offered by the FIVB for active national team coaches or coaches of high performance teams. Participants are required to have passed the Level II Coaches Course in order to enter Level III.

The course which began on August 7 will run for eight days and will conclude on August 14. Participants are required to pass an exam in order to successfully complete the course.
