WCHJ M: Rwanda earn first win against Venezuela

Highly spirited Rwanda team secured their first tournament's victory over Venezuela in an exciting five- set match lasting 2 hours of thrills 3-2 (27-25, 23-25, 18-25, 25-21, 17-15) in classification 17 to 20th positions at the FIVB Men's U21 World Championship at Ataturk Hall in Izmir, Turkey on Thursday.

Now Rwanda starts the round robin competition with 2 points to lead the pool along with Estonia, while Venezuela gained one point.

With a wonderful performance a tournament’s another record of scoring performance (36 points), Rwanda’s captain Aimable Mutuyimana led his team to a historic victory which is the first ever for any Rwandan team at the world level.

From the Venezuelan side Willner Rivas led the scorers with 25 points.
