The DOL will assign teams to the first, second and third round of the Championships whose Final Rounds are scheduled for next year (Women U19 and Men U20) and 2015 (Men and Women).
The DOL will start at 10 am (local time in Luxembourg City) and detailed results will be available on the CEV website at around 1 pm. The Calendar Conferences will then follow on Saturday afternoon to determine the hosts of the various first and second round qualifiers for the 2014 U19 Women/U20 Men and 2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship.
For the first time in the Women U19 and Men U20 European Championship the previous edition champions are not automatically qualified for the Final Round.
2014 CEV U19 Women Volleyball European Championship
37 National Federations have entered the 2014 CEV U19 Women Volleyball European Championship. The Final Round is scheduled for August 16-24, 2014 in Tartu (Estonia) and Tampere (Finland); 12 teams will compete there, i.e. the two organizers, plus the winners of the seven second-round qualifiers scheduled for April 24-27, 2014. The first placed teams as well as the second placed team with the best score among the 3rd Round Pools coming up in July 2014 will also qualify for the Final Round.
2014 CEV U20 Men Volleyball European Championship
35 National Federations have entered the 2014 CEV U20 Men Volleyball European Championship. The Final Round is scheduled for August 29-September 6, 2014 in Brno (Czech Republic) and Nitra (Slovakia); 12 teams will compete there, i.e. the two organizers, plus the winners of the seven second-round qualifiers scheduled for April 24-27, 2014. The first placed teams as well as the second placed team with the best score among the 3rd Round Pools coming up in July 2014 will also qualify for the Final Round.
2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship – Women
44 National Federations have entered the 2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship – Women; the Final Round will be co-hosted by The Netherlands (in Rotterdam, Apeldoorn, and Almere) and Belgium (Antwerp). The 5 highest placed teams in the standing from the previous edition (not qualified as an organizer) are directly qualified to the Final Round (RUS, GER, SRB, CRO & ITA) together with the host countries (NED & BEL). The 1st placed teams of each second-round Pools – scheduled for late May/early June 2014 – qualify for the Final Round. The winners of the third-round home and away matches coming up in May 2015 will get the three remaining spots available for the Final Round.
2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship – Men
44 National Federations have entered the 2015 CEV Volleyball European Championship – Men. The Final Round will be co-hosted by Bulgaria (Sofia and Varna) and Italy (matches will take place in Catania and Messina). The 5 highest placed teams in the standing from the previous edition (not qualified as an organizer) are directly qualified to the Final Round (RUS, SRB, FRA, GER & BEL) together with the host countries (BUL & ITA). The 1st placed teams of each second-round Pools – scheduled for late May/early June 2014 – qualify for the Final Round. The winners of the third-round home and away matches coming up in May 2015 will get the three remaining spots available for the Final Round.
