These teams are also occupying the top spots of the national league and hence the match was of the utmost importance.
Noliko started impressively, by claiming the opening set with the score of 25-15 via some excellent serving and fast play. Euphony drew level by taking home the second set (33-35) before Noliko got back on track in set 3 (25-18). It looked like Euphony was going to stretch the match to the tie-break (as the guests went up 1:4 and 4:7), but Noliko regained full control of the operations to stamp another 25-18 and finish it in four sets.
With this result Noliko extended its winning streak to a total of 11 matches thereby having a perfect record of 11 wins and no losses so far in this year’s national league.
This Tuesday Noliko will play host to Bulgaria’s CSKA SOFIA for the third leg of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League while Euphony will travel to Russia to play there the clear-cut leader of Pool B, Zenit KAZAN.
