All those money invested in volleyball superstars has started to pay off from the start. Al Rayyan collected the all three points against the Italian powerhouse, mostly thanks to newcomers.
Robertlandy Simon scored 20 points, Michael Sanchez-Bozhulev added 19! On the other side, Tsvetan Sokolov and Filoppo Lanza made 15 points each.
So after the first round, Al Rayyan and UPCN have three points, Trentino and Esperance are at zero.
