WL: Another win for Poland, tough battle for F6

by WoV

On Sunday evening Poland beat Italy in four sets (25-22, 25-23, 23-25 and 25-15) in Lodz, in their second home match of the 2014 FIVB World League. With this result they moved to the third place in Pool A, while Italy remained on top of the standings.

It’s a rare situation in volleyball where all the scorers have 10+ points. That’s what happened tonight in a PolandItaly game where Poland played very balanced and free-flow game.

Italy had no answer for this kind of Polish performance and lost after four sets of not so close game.

Poland will, for the moment, take over second place in Pool A over Brazil and Iran. Still, Both Iran and Poland have two games less than Brazil and that matchup will most likely determine a lot of things considering Final Six qualification.
