Itambé Minas are off the mark! The Minas Gerais state champions lost the first set and then beat Sesi Bauru 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 35-33, 25-18) at the Arena UniBH in Belo Horizonte. It was their first game of the 2026/27 Superliga Masculina and the last game of Round 1.
The third set decided it. Neither side could close it out until Minas finally won it 35-33 to lead 2-1. Serving runs from Ricardo Lucarelli and Bryan Lucas then gave the hosts an early cushion in the fourth, and they controlled it to the end.
Opposite Bryan led all scorers with 21 points (16 kills, 4 aces, 1 block) and won the MVP award. Lucarelli added 19 and Henrique Honorato 13. Outside hitter Gabriel Vaccari top-scored for Sesi Bauru with 16.
