This was the third win in a row for Spain against Greece as Pascual Saurin’s team won both home matches last week in Alcocron. Greece’s Evangelia Chantava made 17 points to become the best scorer of the match. Milagros Collar was the winning side’s most prolific player with 15 points.
Pascual Saurin, head coach of Spain: “Both teams did not play good volleyball today, but I am really happy with our win. Greece has very strong block and in the first set we had a lot of problems. But we changed our plan in attack and in the crucial moments we took some big points. I believe tomorrow both teams will perform better and without so many mistakes.”
