Puerto Rico captain Rosa Yarimar: It was very important for us to win tonight with the classification for the last round in Poland still open. I believe we need to improve a few things such as serve receive.

Puerto Rico coach Jose Mieles: I’m satisfied with our win. We know about the level of playing that Peru has achieved in these months thanks to their coach. There was a lot of pressure from the fans, the block was effective and I have to improve the serve receive of Puerto Rico because Peru served very well.

Peru captain Angela Leyva: The Peruvian team did not work well in the second set but later on we started playing better. We need more experience. We are a young team and we are working to achieve positive results for our country.

Peru coach Natalia Málaga: Congratulations to Puerto Rico, a team with a lot of experience that has a very effective block. Our outside hitters couldn’t work in the best way possible. We are playing against teams with a higher level of volleyball than us and my young team needs to take advantage of that.
