Thailand coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai: “Congratulations to Japan. This is our last game in Hong Kong. We’d like to thank the organizer, officials and supporters. Today, we tried our best but Japan showed their good techniques and tactics. We enjoyed playing with Japan and gained a lot from them. We wish them good luck.”

Thailand captain Wilavan Apinyapong: “Congratulations to Japan. Today we planned to do our best but didn’t start well at the beginning of the game. Japan had good defense and we made some mistakes in blocking and defense. We hope to do better in the coming games next week.”

Japan coach Masayoshi Manabe: “We always learn so much from Thailand. They have good coordination between their setter and spikers. Our team is not as good in that but it’s great to learn from them. It is a very good experience to play against them.”

Japan captain Saori Kimura: “We had good rhythm in the beginning, but as we played in the third set, we couldn’t overcome the Thailand team’s good combination of tactics. It is good to win the game in the end.”
