Their first home match will then follow on November 20 as they host Switzerland’s #Dragons LUGANO. Their third opponent in Pool A is Belgium’s Knack ROESELARE.
“I think that PIACENZA is the strongest team in our group, with the remaining three being at the same level,” head coach Martin Stoev said. “We will play every match with a lot of focus and determination because every point is important. After achieving good results in our previous appearances in the European Cups, Tomis is no longer seen as an outsider. Our goal is to win all matches and play at a high level regardless of the opponent that will be standing on the other side of the net.”
Team captain Andrey Zhekov, who back in 2012 played in Italy for PIACENZA, said: “I think that it is a good thing that we play in Champions League. It is very important to be able to raise the level of our performance. On paper PIACENZA is the favourite team in this Pool, but we are going to Italy to play good Volleyball and get a good result.”
“We have been Romania’s best team for many years already and have achieved some good results also on the European stage,” added Andrei Spinu. “So this time our goal is to make the Playoff round of the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League. Copra Ardelia has three key players in Samuele Papi, Hristo Zlatanov and Valerio Vermiglio, and it is an honour to cross the way of players with such impressive resume and background as they have. We have to be ready to fight for every point and in every match.”
