In the re-match of last year’s playoff finals with Sm’ AESCH Pfeffingen by 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-21) to retain the trophy of the Swiss Supercup and prove that they are ready for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship which will be taking place in Manila (Philippines) from October 18 to 23.
MVP of the match was libero of Volero Silvija Popovic:
“We were struggling at the very beginning of the game. I think we got a little bit nervous as it was our first official game of the season with the whole squad. Thereafter, however, we found back into our rhythm and calmed down. I think this was mentally very important,” said Popovic after the game and added:
„I think the Supercup was most of all important as a last rehearsal for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship in Manila. That’s the reason why a victory was so important to us – also mentally. Now we have to keep on working hard and practice in order to be ready for Manila.”
