European qualification for the World Championship 2018 in Japan for women has started in Warsaw.

Host team Poland, Serbia and Czech Republic scored their first victories in Pool B.

Czech Republic edging their neighbours from Slovakia 3-1 (18-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-16) before Olympic silver medallists Serbia routed Iceland in three sets (25-13, 25-15, 25-9) and hosts Poland did the same with Cyprus (25-14, 25-17, 25-15).
