When we made our choice for the candidates to compete for the 2017 WoV Player of 2017, we took into account all their achievements in 2017 and not only for the current season. But, the current season is highly important because sometimes earlier merits might not be enough. Check out in what shape are these five candidates at the moment by looking at their stats in the 2017/18!

Maksim Mikhailov has a good season with Zenit Kazan, so far. He averaged 16.4 points in 12 games of the Russian Superliga. In addition, he made 43% positive reception, which is quite solid for an opposite, and mighty numbers in the attack – 64% positive. Check out Mikhailov’s displays in the club competition this season, separately for home and away matches.

Wilfredo León appeared in 13 games for Zenit Kazan this season and scored an average of 18.6 points. His attack remained his lethal weapon but will still have to work to improve the reception, which is 34% positive at the moment. Earvin Ngapeth played 12 games for Azimut Modena in Serie A1 this season. The numbers say that he had balance in reception and attack – 54% and 50%, respectively – and averaged 16.6 points. Check out the comparison of his stats game by game in Italian League.

Osmany Juantorena was involved in 12 games of an Italian Serie A1 with Cucine Lube Civitanova. By looking to this criterion only, he made 14.4 average season points, 54% positive reception and 62% positive attackTake a look at his stats including all club competitions in which he took part in 2017/18.

Yoandy Leal played 10 games for Sada Cruzeiro in the Brazilian Superliga and averaged 14.0 points, 43%positive reception, 55% positive attack. See his average season points, serve, reception, attack, and block in Superliga compared to his team’s performance (number of sets played).
