Tunisia claimed the 2026 Men’s Volleyball African Nations Championship on home soil, securing a return to the Olympic Games and a place at Los Angeles 2028.
Roared on by the home crowd in Tunis, Tunisia completed an unbeaten campaign with a straight-sets victory over Cameroon in the final. The triumph delivered the country its 12th African title and fourth in the last five editions.
Oussama Ben Romdhane led the champions with 19 points, including 12 kills, four aces and three blocks, while Ali Bongui contributed 11 points.
The victory sends Tunisia back to the Olympics after missing Paris 2024. Los Angeles will mark the national team’s eighth Olympic appearance.
Cameroon will join Tunisia at the 2027 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Cup, while Algeria secured the third African berth after beating Morocco in straight sets in the bronze-medal match.
Tunisia is the fifth men’s team confirmed for LA 2028, joining hosts the United States and continental qualifiers Brazil, Cuba and Japan.
