WCHU23 W: Dominican Republic storm past Argentina (PHOTOS)

The Dominican Republic stormed past Argentina to capture a straight set victory (25-14, 25-18, 25-16) in a match of Pool A of the FIVB Women’s U23 World Championship at the Baja California High Performance Center.

The winners held a big margin of 8-3 in the aces category and also were better in the blocking department with a 7-5 advantage.

Jeoselyna Rodriguez and Yonkaira Peña topped the offensive charts of the winners with 15 and 14 points, respectively, while Brayelin Martinez contributed 10 tallies. Rodriguez registered four of the eight aces recorded by the Dominican side.

Maria Calvete and Virginia Granado were the main offensive players of the losing team with 9 and 7 points, respectively.
