With all its players but Luciano De Cecco, with a light bad feeling, the team started its way to the next competition with little rest and no time to enjoy returning to the Olympic Games. The team goal is to qualify at least, as last year for the FIVB World League semi-finals (in Poland) when it finished in the best historical place, fourth.
This season with the new formula due to the Olympic Games, the FIVB World League Intercontinental Round will last only four weekends, playing round robin, all against each other.
Only six teams qualify (it changed from eight) for the Final Round, Argentina stands in Pool D playing against Bulgaria (organizer of the Final 6), Portugal and Germany.
