In the second match of the closing day at the Pool H tournament Cuba beat Argentina 3:0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-19) after 73 minutes of play. The match was played in front of 200 spectators and the referees were Mrs. Heike Kraft from Germany and Mr. Luca Sobrero from Italy.

Yusidey Silie Frometa, team captain of Cuba: “My team and I are very happy with this victory. Three points more for us”.

Yael Castiglione, setter of Argentina: “To be honest, they completely outmatched us. We couldn’t deal with their powerful attacks.”

Juan Gala Rodriguez, head coach of Cuba: “I am very satisfied because we recovered from the loss against Turkey on the first day of the competition, we reacted in a great manner, we raised the level of our game, and we won the following two matches. We won the first tournament, this one was fine, and we are looking ahead for the Finals in China.”

Horacio Bastit, coach of Argentina: “As I already said, we have difficulties playing against big teams. Last year we managed to beat Cuba once, but this year it was impossible. They were too strong and powerful.”
