Top-seed Personal Bolívar was put under a test against No.8 Monteros Vóley Club in Game 1 of the playoff quarterfinals at home as they lost the opening set by a 25-23 and trailed 16-10 in the second set. The decision of Bolívar coach Javier Weber to replace the Belgian setter Frank Depestele with Germán Galdón from that moment proved to be crucial as defending champions came back and tied at 1-1 (26-24). Monteros kept the fighting spirit in the next two sets as well but have fallen right after the second technical time-out in both, 25-20, 25-18.

Bolívar were impressive in reception, making 74% as a team with the backup outside hitter Leonardo Patti standing out in this segment (94%, 16 digs, 1 error). The Brazilian Théo Lopes scored game-high 19 points (3 kill blocks), while Pablo Crer made 75% attack (12/16, 2 errors). The Brazilian Leandro Silva “Leandrão” topped Monteros with 13 points.

No.2 UPCN Vóley Club returned from 6 points down in the first set (9-3) against seventh-seed Libertad Burgi Vóley and prevailed in straight sets, partially 37-35, 25-21, 25-18. UPCN made 72% reception as a team with their libero Sebastián Garrocq having 78% (27 digs, 2 errors). The Pole Zbigniew Bartman topped UPCN with 13 points. The captain of the winning side Martín Ramos recorded 83% attack (10/12, blocked once). Tomás López scored 18 points (3 aces, 2 kill blocks, 90% reception, 31 digs, 1 error) for Libertad.
