Top-seed Personal Bolívar was put under a test against No.8 Monteros Vóley Club in Game 1 of the playoff quarterfinals at home as they lost the opening set by a 25-23 and trailed 16-10 in the second set. The decision of Bolívar coach Javier Weber to replace the Belgian setter Frank Depestele with Germán Galdón from that moment proved to be crucial as defending champions came back and tied at 1-1 (26-24). Monteros kept the fighting spirit in the next two sets as well but have fallen right after the second technical time-out in both, 25-20, 25-18.
