ACCH M: Ardakan won 11th title for Iran at Asian Club Championship

Khatam Ardakan are the new winners of the Asian Men's Club Championship after they defeated Atyrau in straight sets (29-27, 25-23, 25-22). Hamzeh Zarrini was named for the MVP of the competition.

Khatam Ardakan won the third consecutive title for Iran after Sarmayeh Bank lifted trophies in 2016 and 2017. But in total, this is Iran’s 11th title in this top championship. 
Shahram Mahmoud scored a team-high 18 points for Khatam Ardakan including 17 attacks, while Hamzeh Zarrini added 12 points. Oleh Shevchenko scored 10 points for the losing side Atyrau.

Wapda made history when the Pakistani side powered past battling Sanest Khanh Hoa in epic 3-2 (19-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-20, 18-16) victory to grab a bronze medal.

With this gold medal, Ardakan also qualified for the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship.

Most Valuable Player: Hamzeh Zarrini (Khatam Ardakan)

Best Setter: Netalin Aibat (Atyrau)

Best Outside Spikers: Hossein Amiri (Khatam Ardakan) and Khandrolin Roman (Atyrau)

Best Middle Blockers: Adel Gholami (Khatam Ardakan) and Nguyen Dinh Nhu (Sanest Khanh Hoa)

Best Opposite: Khan Aimal (Wapda)

Best Libero: Mojtaba Yousefi (Khatam Ardakan)
