“Because of the high quality of Japan team in all volleyball aspects, we had a very difficult match today. We did not react well in blocking and we lost 1st and 4th set.
However, my players improved our blocking timing at the end of the final set and this created the difference on our side. Also, we won because our setter controlled the game very well.” commented Hee-Sang Park, head coach of Korea.
Han Kukmin scored 22 points for Korea, while Takanashi Kenta led Japan with 19 points.
In the second game today, Qatar defeated Vietnam with 3:0, (25:20, 25:19, 25:23) while Iran outplayed the host team Chinese Taipei with 3-1 (25-23, 14-25, 25-21, 25-23).
