Earlier this year, the Chinese men’s volleyball team missed the last ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after losing to Iran in the finals of the AVC Men’s Olympic Qualifiers. The team never secured participation in the Olympics, except as hosts in the 2008 Beijing.
