According to our correspondent from Iran, Bulgarian expert Radostin Stoytchev, the main candidate to become head coach of the Iranian Men’s Volleyball National Team, left Tehran towards Sofia most likely because he failed to reach an agreement with the Acting President of Iranian federation, Dr. Mohammad Reza Davarzani. As our source from the scene reported, Stoytchev requested a four-year contract which is not suitable for Iranian federation.
Thus, Iranian federation turned to Montenegrin coach Igor Kolaković, who already arrived to Tehran to start talks with Davarzani and now has much bigger chance to take over Iranian Men’s National Team than Stoytchev.
Two other names which were announced by media as the candidates to take charge of the Men’s team, Argentine Javier Weber and Italian Mauro Berruto, are both waiting for their turn to hold talks with Iranian federation. Another candidate, an Italian Andrea Giani, accepted the offer to lead German Men’s National Team.
As we mentioned above, Davarzani is the Acting President of the Iranian federation at the moment and might leave the position of the President because he was appointed Deputy of the Sport and Youth Minister of Iran.
