For the 13th time in 26 participations in the finals, Al Rayyan conquered the prestigious Qatari men’s volleyball tournament, Emir Cup, which was held at Qatar Volleyball Association Indoor Hall in Doha.

Led by the French superstar Earvin Ngapeth, who tallied 20 points, Al Rayyan beat Al Ahli by a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-19) to seize the gold medal. The Brazilian Marcus Vinícius Eloe added 13 points. His teammate Geraldo Goiano made 12 points while Slovenian Tine Urnaut, Ngapeth’s teammate in Azimut Modena, Italy, this season, scored 10 points for Al Ahli, who reached the finals for the first time in 22 years.

Al Rayyan lifted every possible national trophy this season: Super cup, Federation cup, league, national cup, and finally, Emir Cup. While doing so, they lost only one match (in national cup playoffs)! In addition, Al Rayyan were crowned 2018 Arab Clubs Championship winners.

Al Rayyan will travel to Myanmar to compete in the 2018 Asian Clubs Championship in July.
