Brazil finished the ultimate test prior to the Qualifications for the Tokyo Olympics triumphantly. The “Seleção” recorded 3 wins in as many matches in the traditional Wagner Memorial, beating Finland by a 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-16), Poland by a 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 29-27, 25-22) and Serbia by a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-14), respectively. Brazil’s outside hitter Yoandy Leal was named MVP of the tournament.
Brazil will play hosts Bulgaria, Puerto Rico and Egypt in the International Qualifier, in Varna, with the same 14 players that competed in the Wagner Memorial:
Setters: Bruninho, Cachopa
Opposite hitters: Wallace, Alan
Middle blockers: Lucão, Maurício Souza, Flávio, Isac
Outside hitters: Leal, Lucarelli, Douglas, Maurício Borges
Liberos: Thales, Maique.
